Great Midwife Appointment Today!
I finally met the 3rd member of the midwife rotation today. She is super nice. I now feel totally comfortable with any of the midwives who could potentially assist my delivery.
Our hospital isn't doing Labor & Delivery center tours right now because of H1N1 so I've been super scared that we won't know what to expect going into the hospital. This midwife put my fears to rest. The hospital has so many of the things that have been talked about in my Bradley class and the way the midwife talked about how she and the other midwives work, the stuff talked about in Bradley class as the things to do (changing labor positions, moving around, waiting to cut the cord, letting baby nurse right away, etc...) are the norm for them, not the exception. I left feeling so encouraged!
Baby is head down still! I've gained 3lbs in the last 2 weeks (after no weight gain at the previous appt) for a total of 20 lbs. so far. When we were listening to the baby's heartbeat we heard some crazy hiccups! I haven't felt hiccups like that at all yet, so it was really funny to feel them and hear them on the doppler.
We have our last childbirth class tonight, so now my hope is to not forget everything I've learned in the last 12 weeks before the baby comes...

Oh my goodness, you are getting so close! You two must be so so so excited. You're going to be such a good mommy! And that is really cool that there are midwifes assisting at the hospital. I have a friend who recently had a home birth with a midwife, but I think personally I'd want something in-between, with all the medical stuff there but also some of the natural stuff. Sounds like you've got a great set-up!
