Sweet Pea Updates

Since my last post we've had some big milestones in baby land. I felt the baby move for the first time on Labor Day. I felt 3 strong kicks and it was the most incredible feeling! I had been feeling a little blue about not feeling the baby move yet so I was so excited I just started crying. Luckily I was already in bed and it was dark so it wasn't a big show for anyone. About a week or so later, Nathan felt the baby move from the outside. His eyes were big and he said it was the weirdest thing ever. I don't know whether he thought it was cool or disgusting. He's been reaching for the belly more often ever since though in hopes of feeling little Sweet Pea give him a hard kick. Sweet Pea is already playing tricks. If I try to get Nathan's attention to come and feel the baby during a very active moment, as soon as Nathan's hand hits my belly, all movement stops. While Sweet Pea is still small enough to hide from daddy, I know that won't be the case for long -that space for hiding is only getting smaller and smaller.

We got back from our big trip on the 20th of September, and then 3 days later had our big ultrasound. I was almost 22 weeks at the ultrasound. Sweet Pea cooperated with us and decided not to reveal to mommy & daddy if I'm carrying a little boy or little girl. We get to keep it a surprise! The ultrasound was an amazing experience. Here are the pictures of Sweet Pea from that special day.

Tiny little toes

The picture below shows my baby belly at 24 weeks & 4 days. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going. It makes me super excited, but kind of sad at the same time - don't want to miss any special moments! I have now entered the world of maternity clothes. I used to love looking at them thinking how cute this or that would look on me. It is quite different when you have no choice but to wear them. I can't wait for the day I can go back to normal sizes and just grab something off the rack. Still, it has been fun getting all new clothes - so I can't complain too much :)

Over the next couple months I hope to keep this more regularly updated with Sweet Pea updates, pictures, and what Nathan & I are experiencing as we prepare for our little one.
