What a Monday!
Nathan & my schedules are officially crazy again. Session starts next Monday, but Session hours began today. I had every intention of getting to work 15 minutes early so that I could check any urgent emails before my new session staff came in. So much for my plans.
As we pulled onto the main drag to head to work we quickly realized that we had a flat rear left tire. Wonderful. We were close enough to the house to head back to swap cars. I was going to enjoy a cruise in the 1980 Ford pinto - Nathan's pride & joy. We barely got it out of the garage before the engine flooded and stalled. Now what to do? We got back in the car with the flat and headed for Walmart to get some "fix a flat". I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry...I just started praying - all while picturing me all of a sudden going into labor and having no way to get anywhere! We finally made it to Walmart. I hope to never write that sentence again. Nathan got the fix a flat, got the tire pumped up in the pouring rain and off we were to work. By the time we got to our parking lot at the office, the tire was flat again. Instead of being 15 min. early, I was 30 min. late - but I had a good story - I'd chosen to laugh about it instead of waste my tears.
Nathan took the car in over his lunch and got two new tires. Don't have to worry about that car anymore. Now to figure out the problem with the pinto (supposed to be Nathan's main car once I'm home with baby). I ended up steering it while nathan pushed it up our sloped driveway into the garage - what a strong hubby I have :)
Thankfully, the rest of the day went pretty smoothly. We ate some dinner at the Ram (I'd been dreaming of a burger there all day) and then both headed home to finish some work we brought home with us. It has been a pretty relaxing evening.
In Sweet Pea news, I will be 37 weeks on Thursday and a mere 3 weeks from my due date! I also have a midwife appt on Thursday and can't wait to hear Sweet Pea's heart beat again and see what kind of weight I gained over the holidays (okay, maybe I can wait to see that result...). Sweet Pea has been pretty active this evening...kicking and squirming like crazy. It is hard to believe that pretty much anytime I could be holding my baby in my arms!
I just finished a delicious cup of hot cocoa and now I think I will head to bed. It's only 9:15!
