Countdown to Christmas!!

Well, it is December 1st and so begins the countdown to Christmas! I am quite excited about this Christmas with it being Steven's first and all. Trying to capture all the special moments with a mostly broken camera should be interesting this month.

As excited as I am for Christmas, I am a little bit surprised with how unmotivated I am to decorate or be out and about Christmas shopping or that I don't have a tree in my house. Perhaps I am too busy keeping up with Steven that my mind just hasn't wrapped around it yet. I'm trying though! As of today I have snowflakes on my window, my Christmas dishes (the few I have) out and/or stocking the cupboards. I have Christmas music playing all day (hopefully I don't tire of it before Christmas actually gets here) and I am making my long list of Christmas to-dos.

Topping the agenda are: getting our tree (this Saturday); finishing my list of Christmas gifts and then getting to work on the ones that are homemade (going to be a lot of them this year with my new love of sewing and my renewed passion for knitting); getting to the store for Christmas cookie ingredients; and planning the menu for our annual Christmas party/dinner with our political friends. Now, if I can find the time to do all of this and keep my house from falling to pieces and my boys fed, life will be grand!

Now I am off to bed, hoping for a good night's rest (Steven wasn't so generous in that department last night...and we had such progress the night before!). Lots of cleaning and organizing tomorrow and then let the decorating (and babyproofing the decorating) begin!
