30 Days of Thankfulness ~ Day 19, 20 & 21

I can't seem to get on here everyday no matter how hard I try, but doing this 30 Days of Thankfulness gets me thinking about what I'm thankful for even if I don't get a free moment to write it down. So here goes. A brief summary of what I'm thankful for the last 3 days.

Day 19 ~ Monday brought torrential downpours on a day when I had endless errands. In the midst of all of those errands, our power went out, leaving me unable to accomplish some very important tasks before the day's end. Even though the timing of it was seemingly horrible it all ended up working out. Seems I needed more time to think about the project at hand to get it done the right way, rather than rushing through it which is what I would've done would the power have stayed on.  So I'm thankful for moments of pause. Times where your only choice is to stop, wait, and think. I probably need to look for these moments more often instead of rushing past them constantly.

Day 20 ~ Tuesday morning Steven was up really early as usual, refusing to sleep in his bed. I walked him down the hall and he said,  "I love you so much, Mommy", in his sleepy voice. He snuggled up and went to sleep, and we all overslept. How glorious that was! I didn't get to shower yesterday due to the oversleeping, but when Steven woke up again next to me he right away said, "I love you so much, Mommy!" I'm thankful for words. His words carried me through a good part of the morning, and reminded me to keep myself in check when patience with the boys was running thin. What a precious thing words can be and what power they can have.

Day 21 ~ Over the river & through the woods to Grandmother's house we go...
Today we packed up the car to drive to Nathan's parents for the next few days over Thanksgiving. Steven has been so excited and talking about it all morning. I am thankful that we have both our families near enough to be able to spend these special holidays with them. It makes me happy knowing that my boys will have memories of holidays with family. I'm also thankful that traffic for us wasn't too horrible and we made it to Nathan's parents in a decent amount of time.
