30 Days of Thankfulness ~ Days 23 & 24
The last two days have been a non-stop whirlwind of fun and so I
needed to wait until tonight to post about all I am thankful for.
Nathan and I had the opportunity to go away overnight by ourselves for
the first time since I was pregnant with
Steven...basically 3 years ago. Some time relaxing by ourselves was
long overdue. We got a room at a lovely boutique hotel downtown for
the night, before getting all dressed up for the wedding of some
friends. I think there's no better way to start a romantic night away
than being reminded of the love one has for their spouse while
witnessing another couple commit their hearts to each other for life.
After a night of good friends, food and celebrating, we enjoyed
sleeping past 6 am (Steven's normal wake up time), taking time getting
ready for the day and having no set agenda. Brunch was delicious and
found at a place we'd never heard of before. We'll definitely return!
After that, the afternoon was filled with shopping, lots of walking,
and coffee at a local cafe. The evening was spent among the same
friends as at the wedding for a "Friendsgiving" feast. Much laughter
ensued and the bird was delicious.
I am thankful for the time away with my husband, for the brief time of
R&R we had and thankful that throughout it we were reminded of the
friends we have surrounding us and also reminded of the love we have
for each other. I sense this trip might be an annual. retreat...
