Big Tuesday!
Well, this Tuesday marked some good things for us Johnsons. First - Nathan & I celebrated 7 years since we started dating. Good memories and man has time flown! Later this month we will have our 5 yr. wedding anniversary!
I woke up to a somewhat fussy baby and decided to go exploring in his mouth. My hunch was right and there was my Mr. Steven's FIRST TOOTH!!! Hurray! It's a sharp little bugger! We have now commenced brushing his gums and tooth (sans toothpaste of course) - he loves it!
Finally (and what I'm super excited about!) - I gave my notice to my work that I will NOT be returning when my maternity leave is up later this month. I am officially a stay at home mama!! This brings a mix of excitement and nervousness since our financial outlook hasn't changed much - but I know this is the best thing for our family and God will provide (like He always has!). After I made the call Steven and I did a little dance around the living room to celebrate - I am envisioning my future of dancing and bursting into operatic song - I am turning into my mother (which isn't a horrible thing).
Other recent happenings: Steven's first 4th of July was spent at the Edmonds parade with the Adame family and Jessica and Gracie Hopf. He fell asleep during the highschool band drum march and was quite docile during the entire parade. I think he'll appreciate the excitement more when he can candy dive. Later we made a pitstop at the Walker household to say hello (and because G. Pat & G. Lori were there). The rest of the evening was spend with Nathan's parents. We stood out on the front walk with grandma Anna and watched fireworks (which Steven was surprisingly unphased by) and then he fell asleep during the loudest 4th of July racket I've ever heard!
Yesterday we spent a morning in the sun at a park with moms and kiddos from church, today we are meeting our friends Aubrey, Noah and Rory at a park in Olympia (after the mamas grab coffee of course) and tomorrow we are taking advantage of the beautiful weather for a long overdue playdate with Jen and her kiddos. LOVING this summer weather!
That's all for now. I will post some pictures of the happenings soon!
