30 Days of Thankfulness ~ Day 13
I gave my boys a bath tonight and as they inevitably do at ages 2 & 3
they were playing and "drinking" the water and spitting it back out
and laughing hysterically about it. I can rest assured knowing that
even in what I'd consider to be dirty bath water, they are sitting in
water cleaner than what a child in Africa or South America might have
for their drinking water, if it is even near enough for them to have
enough to quench their thirst.
After the boys were in bed I took a long hot shower myself. I didn't
have to haul or heat the water, or reuse the boys' bath water. I just
turned on the nozzle and out it came. And I had hot water for my 20
minute shower. This is a luxury in some countries, and it is something
daily taken for granted here.
So, today I'm thankful for clean, running water.
