30 Days of Thankfulness ~ Days 9 & 10
It has been a busy, busy weekend. There has been lots of organizing
going on. You could call it nesting, but it wasn't really happening at
home (well, some today). Saturday was our church's fall cleaning day.
Somewhere around 40-50 people got together in the morning to clean our
church from top to bottom. It looked absolutely amazing by the time we
were done and while we had planned to go until 4 that day we didn't
have to because of all the amazing people we had working - we were
done by noon!
I am so thankful for my church. Nathan and I started attending Reality
4 years ago when I was pregnant with Steven. It is the number one
reason why we can comfortably call Olympia home and be excited about
it. We are in love with the people of this church. We love what our
church does in the community and how it has propelled us to further
involve ourselves as well. I'm thankful for the solid Bible based
teaching we get every week and that the leaders in our church are
hungry for and dependent upon the Holy Spirit and His leading. I am
thankful to be able to serve alongside some amazing people in the
children's department and see the love of God being expressed to our
kids through them.
We went to church this morning and afterward came home to relax and
have some family time together. This consisted of the Seahawks game,
doing some odds and ends around the house and a trip to Costco (always
exciting on a Sunday when there are samples to be had). This evening
we had some dear friends over for a night of fun and laughter playing
Settlers of Catan while our kids slept.
I'm thankful for a day or rest. Where we can just be. I feel so
refreshed even though it is so late.
Tomorrow will be another day like this one, I am hoping, since it is
Veteran's day and Nathan is off from work. There might be some more
nesting involved but this time it will be at home.
