30 Days of Thankfulness ~ Day 16
Power outages sure rearrange one's day!
Without electricity I ran out of useful things to do rather quickly today (oh darn). I also ran out of ways to stay warm as the temperature in my house slowly started dropping, to the point of my nose being cold. Once my nose gets cold that's the end of being warm for me. By the time my nose gets cold it means the rest of me has been chilled to the bone and I am probably starting to shiver. Not wanting to take the chance that Steven takes after his mother, I decided to think of somewhere warm we could go.
I didn't have to think long as Paige saw my plight on facebook and offered warmth, food, and good company. Couldn't refuse that! We had a wonderful time with Paige and her darling kiddos. Steven was quite taken with her girls, Pear and Jovie. I think he could have watched them for hours! We stayed for lunch and cookies and coffee with lots of mommy chatting and little ones playing in between.
I am so thankful for Paige and her warm hospitality!
I am also thankful that the power outage became a great conversation starter between myself my new neighbor. They have a 15 month old boy that I hope will become good buddies with Steven.
Last but not least, I am thankful the power is back on and I was able to catch up on most everythong that was neglected while thw power was out.

What happened to your food in the fridge? I was worried when I saw that on facebook! Sounds like you had a lovely day despite the circumstances!
ReplyDeleteThe food survived! And for the most part, everything in the freezer stayed frozen. Nathan and I discovered last night though that the ice cream had partially melted and refrozen...slightly crunchy not as creamy ice cream...but still worth eating :)
