30 Days of Thankfulness ~ I is for Imagination

Have you ever wondered how people come up with such wild stories for movies. Or how someone thinks up solutions to complex problems in everyday life. Or how your kid decides it would be a good idea to see what happens when you jump in the air and land on your bottom like you are jumping on a trampoline only it isn't a trampoline it is the playroom floor (yes, that happened, and yes, his tailbone hurt)? All these things can be attributed to the wonders of the imagination.

This center of creative thinking lends to some of the world's greatest inventions. We have been transported to magical places because of someone else's journey there first in their mind. Unicorns, Narnia, Rodents of Unusual Size, Snozzcumbers, and flying saucers were all birthed out of wild imagination. Electricity, light bulbs, the radio, the internet - all round their start from that place of wonder in the mind of their creator. Wondering what, or how, or where, or who.

Thinking of all the ways imagination has effected our world for the better, it encourages me even more to let my kids spend time imagining the multitude of things that come across their mind and they put to the test. For all I know they may have imagined the next big thing to change the world. I'm thankful get to be a part of their imaginations at work.
