30 Days of Thankfulness ~ P is for Pursuit, Q is for Quilts, R is for Rainbows
After another busy weekend it is safe to say that I am back to multiple days of thankfulness. I don't mind. There is so much living I am doing with this sweet family of mine that it is hard to take the time to get on here and actually make note of the things I am thankful for - but I love this practice so I am going to try to stick to it!
P is for Pursuit. Ever since we moved back to the north end we have been attending the Pursuit NW in Snohomish for church on Sunday mornings. It can be so difficult to get started in a new church community - even when you are related to the pastor and already know a bunch of the people there. Thankfully, this has not been the case at the Pursuit. We have felt like it has been so easy to immerse ourselves into the community and although somewhat slow (largely due to the number of kids we have and our ability to socialize because of them) we have been building meaningful relationships with people and feel really plugged in. I am so thankful for a church where the people I meet are genuine and unafraid to not only share the love of Jesus with everyone they meet but also the ways that they are imperfect people living life together in pursuit of Jesus.
Q is for Quilts. Quilts are cozy that is for sure, but I'm thankful for quilts for a different reason. So far 2 people have specially made quilts for little Elizabeth and another very special one is in the works from her great-aunt. Every time I cozy up Elizabeth in one of these beautiful pieces I am drawn to think of the person who made it so lovingly and say a prayer of thanks for them, knowing they were praying for my girl as they stitches the squares together.
R is for Rainbows. I never used to think much about rainbows other than their relation to the story of Noah's Ark in the Bible or occasionally seeing one on a rainy day. It wasn't until after my miscarriage with Shiloh that they took on a while new meaning. You see, in the world of babies, the term for a baby born after pregnancy or infant loss is "rainbow baby" because they are the rainbow after a storm. I am a blessed momma in that I have not just one, but two rainbow babies. First my sweet Wesley, and now my little Elizabeth. Now I see a rainbow and think not only of those two sweet kiddos that I get to hold in my arms, but their older sibling who is the very reason that they are both here. I am truly blessed.
