30 Days of Thankfulness ~ Day 26

After backing out if my garage this morning I went to hit the button
to close the door and saw something dart into the garage. It was a
dog. I quickly got out of the car to see if the owner was about but
the street was quiet. Sigh. Being on time is something I can only
dream about these days, but I never thought this would be why I'd be
late.

I called a number for a pet control on the dog's tag and found out her
name was Miley, but no owner contact information - they would have to
contact them for me. So began the wait....

About this time my neighbor, Levi, pulled up across the street. The
dog bounded toward him probably realizing he was a dog lover and made
friends with him quickly, much to the frustration of Lucy, Levi's dog.
How dare he talk to another furry creature in her presence!

I must have looked pretty helpless over he situation...I don't have a
dog afer all. Levi got a leash, we made another phone call
and found a name for an owner but an out of state number. Didn't really help.

I began to think and then it occurred to me that a few houses down
from us was where the owner lived. I recognized the name, now began
to remember the dog, Miley, being talked about. I was running so late,
so Levi graciously offered to take the dog down and see if that's
where she belonged. Sure enough she got home safe.

I'm so thankful for neighbors to help in a pinch, especially with
things you know little about!
