30 Days of Thankfulness ~ Day 11

Today is Veteran's Day. Today we honor our men and women who have
served our nation and are serving our nation through devoting their
lives to keeping our nation free.

I was reminded of the immense number of men and women that includes
when we visited Nathan's grandma at her retirement facility today.
They had a display of men and women in their own community who had
themselves served or whose spouses had served a generation or two ago.
All these men and women, husbands, wives, sons, & daughters, leaving
families, leaving comfort, to put our country's future and hope ahead
of their own dreams.

I was reminded this weekend when our friends went overseas in service
to our military how many people I know who have chosen this life. Who
have chosen to live their lives in service to our nation that we may
remain free. I think too often I take that for granted, this freedom I
live under. I'm glad there is a day like to today to remind me that
there is a price for that freedom, and to make me stop and honor those
who foot that bill day in and day out.

Thank you, Veterans, for all you have done for our country!
