30 Days of Thankfulness ~ Day 12

Nathan had the day off today because of Veteran's Day yesterday (I'm thankful for that). We enjoyed a nice brunch with our neighbors, now a yearly tradition. The brunch got a little crazy when Steven raced his little school bus, tripped, and met our ceramic tile with his mouth. I'm thankful we weren't in for a trip to the ER after that. But thankfully, after lots of tears, snuggles, and kisses, we're only left with a slightly fat lip (much worse at first) and a teensy chip out of his front tooth. He'll look a little funny the next couple days, and I'm afraid he's refusing to let me brush his teeth so dental hygiene is on hold until the tenderness goes down.

This afternoon Steven went to Home Depot with Nathan, a great little father/son date for them, and came home with a rake so we could battle the onslaught of leaves in our front yard. After a couple hours outside (where I raked the leaves into a big pile all so Steven could jump in, just to have him be too scared to try it), we enjoyed dinner with the neighbors (I think we'll keep them). We came home, put the kids to bed, a worked on some gifts and Nathan & I got time to chat like we haven't been able to in a while.

All in all, I'm thankful for the relaxing day to enjoy family and friends.
