30 Days of Thankfulness ~ Day 26
I love the library. The library brings back so many great childhood
memories for me. The smell of the books, the occasional history of who
the book once belonged to scribbled in the pages...coming home with a
stack of stories to occupy your imagination until the next visit to
the library. My mom would often read books aloud when we were little
and I recall a few she even read aloud to us as young teenagers for
school. I loved curling up with my eyes closed picturing in my head
the scene she was reading off the page. I also, secretly, I'm sure,
would stay in the room when she was reading picture books to my
youngest brothers.
I am thankful for the library. I'm thankful that I get to go on the
quest every few weeks for my favorite picture books to read to my
kids. I'm thankful I can order my books of interest on their website
to be held for me . Im excited to read all about Christmas to Steven
who can't seem to stop talking about it. Most of all... i'm thankful
that it's free!

Hooray for the library! It never ceases to amaze me how there are so many materials available at our fingertips for absolutely free! And it's fun to imagine who else might have checked out each book... it's like they each have secret histories of their own!
