30 Days of Thankfulness ~ Day 8
The reason why I'm so late on this post is because I was busy chatting with the subject of this post while he was far away from me last night. Okay, so Spokane really isn't that far...but he had to take a plane to get there so...far enough.
My husband has been on my mind a lot this last week. I mean, he is kind of always on my mind (any songs in your head from that one?), but I've been reminicsing a lot lately. Something about the fall makes me think back to when we were first a couple. The little dates we'd go on, the little anniversaries we shared, it was the fall when we held hands for the first time. The Puyallup Fair was our first "big" date night (in that it was more than dinner & a movie). A lot of our time spent together that first few months was huddled over our study books in a coffee shop or at the library. One of my absolute favorite getaways after we were married was Thanksgiving weekend the year before we moved to Olympia. Maybe that's why fall has remained my favorite season. I'm excited to have another getaway this Thanksgiving weekend!
We've grown a lot this year as a couple. They say that happens when you hit 7 years of marriage. There have been some growing pains, but mostly times of looking at our relationship and saying, "Look how far we've come - let's dream of where we're going!". I can't imagine a better companion for my journey along God's path for my life. I am so thankful for Nathan, the man of God that he is, his dedication to our family and providing for us. I find myself even more attracted to him than when we became a couple.
I had the lyrics to It's Magic written inside my journal when we were newly engaged. It's been playing in my head all week. I love you Nathan, more now than before, and I'm sure more tomorrow than today. Thank you for loving me!
