30 Days of Thankfulness ~ Day 8
It all began with a suggestion by a friend to visit the website
shereadstruth.com . On that site are numerous Bible reading plans to
get you in the Word. Now, I've started a number of reading plans in my
life thus far, but never stuck with one. You could say my habit of
daily Bible reading was far from consistent, and fairly irregular at
best. Nevertheless, I decided to start in the middle of their "Bible
in a year" plan.
Before long I had been in the Word every day for a month, and then two
months. I hit the two month mark and knew it was the longest I had
ever been in the Word consistently on a daily basis in my life. I was
starting to notice the changes and I was also starting to notice an
increasing hunger for more of it every day.
I am finally (in my thirty first year) starting to understand what it
means to hunger for the Word and to have it dwell richly me . I am
thankful for the changes to my heart that have come through the the
study of His Word. I am thankful that I am able to have access to this
written Word of God every moment of every day. And I am most thankful
that I will forever have more to learn about the fullness of God and I
will have a resource to begin to understand His Word.
