30 Days of Thankfulness ~ Days 12 & 13

Well, I have some catch-up today. I have been living life with my
family and while there has been pause to reflect on way I am thankful
for, the time to get it on the blog has eluded me.

Day 12 ~

Thursday was a long busy day for us. Nothing seemed to go quite as
planned and somehow the timing of things got me out for my errands
much later than normal. The kids were beyond themselves by the time we
reached our last and longest stop.

I found myself very frustrated on my way home after 7pm with kids who
were now both tired and hungry as bedtime was rapidly approaching and
we had yet to eat or even make dinner. I started complaining to no one
(but my own heart) about how naughty my kids were, how they weren't
listening in the store, and why can't I just get groceries by myself
instead of always having crabby kids with me...
It struck me all of a sudden. I have three beautiful children, I have
a car filled with food that I had money in the bank to pay for and we
were going home to a house which keeps us warm and dry from the rain.

It was so basic, but the truth was so important. I have so much to be
thankful for that I shouldn't be complaining about such little things.
I am thankful for food and shelter.

Day ~ 13

France. I am so thankful this world is not my forever home and that I
have a God who knows all and sees all and weeps with those who weep as
Paris is weeping now. My thoughts and prayers are with the people of
France.
