30 Days of Thankfulness ~ Day 30

Today we spent the day preparing for Christmas. We continued our annual tradition of chopping down our own tree at Ames tree farm in Olympia, accompanied by dear friends, the Hoys. The hunt was a success and we were done there in record time!

When we got home we all got busy stringing the lights on the tree and putting on the ornaments. The boys loved participating, and although Nathan and I had to redistribute some of the ornaments that seemed to collect in the center bottom of the tree, they did a fantastic job. I love how my living room looks for Christmas with my new blue wall!

Christmas time!

Tomorrow begins the Advent season. I already have some readings picked out to do with the boys every day and our church begins its Advent series tomorrow as well. I am so thankful for this season. What a joy to reflect on the birth of our Savior in humble surroundings all because of His great love for us! What excitement it brings to use this time as an opportunity to anticipate His soon return as King coming to reign over all!

I pray that these 30 Days of Thankfulness prepared your heart for this season of rejoicing the way it did mine and that you will be blessed beyond measure as you celebrate His coming and enter into the start of a new year.
